This is a W5-1138SM subwoofer driver in a box that I built. The speaker cabinet was designed by Marty Swanson, who used to sell this sub already built. When I tried to order one, he had to refund my money because he'd ended that little sub making venture but forgot to shut down the website. However, he was nice enough to send me the plans. :-) This subwoofer is in a 1999 integra at the time of filming, and I can crank this little guy up pretty far and still not hear the speaker hitting it's limits. Good job Tang Band! Only occasionally will I have to turn it down a pinch if I have it turned up like this to test it's limits. I usually have it set to be more balanced in the mix, but it's fun to feel the bass occasionally. You really don't NEED an 8" or 10" sub in a small enclosed car like this. 5" to 6" is fine. The amp is only rated to something like 300 watts... Overkill in my opinion. Even though it doesn't go super low, it goes much lower (and with more umph) then the good aftermarket speakers installed in the car. It moves a surprising amount of air for its size due to its high excursion. Demo music is by the "Bare naked" "Ladies". I do not claim any copyright of that music.
